Preschool

Preschool has had a smooth start this new year. We are very proud of our remodeled room and would like to say thank you to all the people who helped with labor and to the trustees for approval and contribuions. Mark, Rob, & Mark David Siemer helped with the removal of cabinets, tile and carpet, as well as the new roof for the shade structure in the playground. Christi King painted the room, Hollis Green did electrical work, and Warren helped us with a plumber.
The children are getting settled in— learning to be part of a class and making new friends. They will start learning about the Fruits of the Spirit —one each month. We started chapel time with Dr. Joe, who talked about God always being with us. Miss Mary brought Gizmo, one of her special friends, to say hello to the children. Some parents joined us to sit with their child. Some parents also brought their younger children to watch the program.
Everyone is welcome to come to chapel time with the preschool on Monday mornings at 11:40 a.m. Later this month we will be hosting a ‘Dad’s N Donuts’ event in the Fellowship Hall, where the dads join us for an hour, and then have their own chapel time.

Statement of Purpose: To provide developmentally appropriate weekday preschool experiences founded on Christian principles.
Programs: The SBUMC Preschool offers the following programs, and follows the Brevard County school calendar.
- Two Year Olds: 2-day class Thursday & Friday. Must be two years old on/before Sept 1 of the year enrolling.
- Threes: 3-day class MTW. Must be three years old on/before September 1. Must be toilet trained.
- Threes: 5-day class M-F. Must be three years old on/before September 1. Must be toilet trained.
- Four Yr Olds (VPK): Monday through Friday. 4 yrs old on/before September 1.
- Lunch Bunch for Threes and up is offered TWTh till 2pm for a daily fee.
Philosophy: Through a warm accepting climate, we will provide an educational program which encourages the growth of the whole child. Our continuous interactive curriculum will strive to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of the preschool child. Under the guidance of qualified teachers, the unique talents and abilities of each child will be valued. Since play is the language of children, a Christian atmosphere for group living will promote healthy attitudes and place emphasis on the importance of good decision making. It is the intent that this program will foster a positive outreach between Satellite Beach UMC and the community.

Great fellowship and food are awaiting you at the SBUMC Tailgate Party, Wednesday, September 8 at 6:00 pm in Fellowship Hall… hosted by the Chancel Choir and Beyond 50 Ministries. Wear your team colors (high school or college) and bring a side dish or dessert to share. We will provide the entrée, beverage and paper products. Let’s show some team spirit for our schools, for our church and for our community! Pick up an invitation and give it to your neighbor, friend, or pew partner to come as your guest. Reservations are required by Sunday, September 5. |

Doubles Beachside, on South Patrick Drive, is hosting us in the month of September. Ray Featherhoff, a member of our church, is the owner of Doubles, and he welcomes us to have dinner there, every Tuesday 5:00 p.m. to closing. Ray will give us 10% when you write SBUMC on the top of your bill. Thank you Ray, for being a supporter of SBUMC and our Dining Out Program that supports the Dream Kitchen account. This is our third year of operation, and we want to thank all of you who participate in this program for enabling us to raise approximately $11,000 towards the Family Life Center Dream Kitchen.
