Statement of Purpose

To provide developmentally appropriate weekday preschool experiences founded on Christian principles.

 Programs

The SBUMC Preschool offers the following programs, and follows the Brevard County school calendar.

• Wee Threes: Tuesday, Thursday. 3 yrs old on/before December 31.
• Older Threes: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. 3 yrs old on/before September 1.
• Four Yr Olds: Monday through Friday. 4 yrs old on/before September 1.

 Staff and Faculty

Susan Blumenthal is the directory of SBUMC Preschool, which is overseen by the Preschool Advisory Team, led by past director Kathy DeSeve. Ms. Artrilla Hansen teaches the three year old classes, while Mrs. Doreen Strait and Mrs. Ginny Chmielewski teach the four year old classes. All three teachers have been with SBUMC Preschool since its inception in September 1993, and have brought SBUMC Preschool much respect from its peers in the community.

 Philosophy

Through a warm accepting climate, we will provide an educational program which encourages the growth of the whole child. Our continuous interactive curriculum will strive to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of the preschool child. Under the guidance of qualified teachers, the unique talents and abilities of each child will be valued. Since play is the language of children, a Christian atmosphere for group living will promote healthy attitudes and place emphasis on the importance of good decision making. It is the intent that this program will foster a positive outreach between Satellite Beach UMC and the community.
